Lisa is the first woman to launch a venture capital firm in Georgia. She is founding general partner at Atlanta-based venture capital firm Valor Ventures.
A few years ago, Forbes highlighted Lisa as an example of a venture capital visionary finding value outside of Silicon Valley. She focuses on the Southeast and is host of the Atlanta Startup Podcast, where you can hear weekly episodes of the Altanta VC scene.
Lisa’s passion is supporting quality founders who create high-performance outcomes. Her experience and entrepreneurship have contributed to over a billion dollars in exit value from emerging technologies. She is a Kauffman Fellow, a member of the global network of top performing venture capital investors (Class 23).
Before Valor, Lisa founded a digital marketing agency recognized by Hubspot as one of the “Top 10 Agencies for Tech Startups.” There she supported hundreds of high growth tech startups in early scale through their exit to public markets and acquisitions. In her early career, Lisa worked in IT consulting, helping large organizations solve complex problems with code.
Since founding Valor, Lisa is known for pioneering platforms that connect private capital to transformational investment opportunities. She created the Valor CIO/CTO Innovation Advisory Board that connects emerging software founders to potential enterprise customers. Lisa also founded the Startup Runway Foundation, a nonprofit which runs the largest pitch event for underrepresented founders in the country, a grassroots effort in Atlanta and Chicago underwritten by Cox Enterprises, American Family Institute, and more leading firms including Goldman Sachs and Atlanta marketing firm Write2Market.
Lisa earned her MBA from the University of Texas with a concentration in management science and quantitative methods. She credits her graduate stat professor Raydell Tullous for opening her mind to the beauty of finance.
