Valor Leads Seed Round for Modern Cybersecurity Platform
Senteon is enabling organizations to proactively automate endpoint cyber security protection. Senteon’s SaaS solution provides protection for client networks enabling them to audit endpoint behavior, identify problematic system-level settings on machines in production, and optimize the endpoint’s system hardening capabilities against active threats. Companies benefit from Senteon’s ability to identify and contextualize key problematic settings, alert on any changes in endpoint configuration, and provide remediation of the issue without human intervention.
Valor General Partner Robin Bienfait joins the board. Bienfait says, “Senteon does something long-needed in cyber-security and it does it better than anyone else.” Bienfait’s informed perspective on cybersecurity spans 30 years leading organizations on the frontier of enterprise network cybersecurity. Prior C-suite security roles include CIO & CISO at Blackberry and Chief Innovation Officer for Samsung Enterprise out of Seoul, South Korea. “These visionaries came on our radar through Georgia Tech’s CreateX, a student-led innovation platform. I invited the team to participate with us in Startup Runway and they scored highly. This led to speaking with their customers, introducing potential, global-scale channel partners, and ultimately Valor’s investment.”
While working in the cybersecurity industry, Founder Henry Zhang became aware of critical gaps that large cybersecurity corporations overlooked when it came to the security posture and safety of local businesses and MSPs. Co-founder Nicole Wraback, CTO, is a Georgia Tech computer science engineering grad who studied AI.
“Our vision is to create secure environments where the people within them continue to grow,” says Zhang. He brings Tier 1 SOC experience with Cisco ATA and has a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University.
“We are thrilled to have Valor as our lead investor. The team understands the potential of our platform and started adding value before the check,” says Zhang.
The co-founding team, which includes an LGBTQIA founder, expressed, “how impressed we are by Valor’s Inclusion Premium investing strategy, as well as the world class sector expertise Valor General Partner Robin Bienfait brings to Senteon. Together, these made Valor a standout for Senteon in selecting Valor as our lead and partner.”
An Evolving Cybersecurity Environment
With new threats and regulations emerging for modern businesses, Senteon is uniquely positioned to give companies the insight needed to secure their valued infrastructure. Many businesses and MSPs believe their individual anti-malware solution alone is sufficient to defend their assets, but recent cyber attacks like the Colonial Pipeline and SolarWinds have demonstrated the need for complex monitoring solutions that can proactively identify and mitigate malicious actors. Senteon’s platform allows stakeholders to audit endpoint behavior and identify system-level settings that can be implemented on in-production machines to provide “best-case” system hardening.
While many competitors in the space are only touching part of the process and still requiring some manual output, Senteon’s dynamic platform seamlessly creates and maintains baselines specifically tailored to the granular needs of each business unit, spending only a fraction of the time previously needed to achieve greater efficacy.
Putting It All Together
Valor led the round and built a strong syndicate which includes Lytical Ventures, SaaS Ventures, and Purdue University. Valor General Partner Robin Bienfait led the investment and will join the board of Senteon. Headquartered in Atlanta, Senteon is a Startup Runway finalist from the 13th showcase in 2021 and a Georgia Tech Create-X company.
